Equipment Forum>HP 130's?

So since I've been getting razzed by my choice to pick up a set of very affordable 119's, I figured I might as well see if anyone has any used 130's?

I've got bands and manifold, I just need the tanks. Anyone have a matched set that they want to sell. What is the going rate on used 130's?

Jim

Yeah I know I'm just hassling you, I was originally looking for 104's as well, but would rather have the HP tanks.

So what is the big downside to the 119's? Is it just the fact that they are shorter so harder to trim?

I`ve only dove them a few times..didnt notice much in the way of trim etc..but then again, I didnt see any video of myself :-)
But the extra gas makes all the difference...

That's only assuming that you can get an overfill in the 104's. The 119's are rated as 123 cubic feet at 3442, and considering I'm only looking at using these as my primary tanks through Tech 1, they should be plenty of gas. I know I'll end up with a second set of big doubles eventually anyway, and I'll buy 130's then. I'm just having a really hard time justifying nearly double the price for 7 cubes more per tank, to use on a class that doesn't go past 150 feet.

I hear you Jim, I assumed you were buying the 119's brand new....the difference in price would be pretty much nothing if you were...
Just get the 119's and perfect the art of skip breathing and you'll be good :-)

haha, I'll get right on the skip breathing part :-)

Yeah, if I was purchasing brand new, there wouldn't be any hesitation at all, I'd just buy the 130's, but I found a pair of used 119's with a fresh hydro for $400, and the best I can find 130's for is $700 plus shipping. Hard to pass that up.

P.S. I see you're in the Hammer, do you know of any local dives, or do you head to the canal as well? I want to get in the water as much as possible, and dont mind the drive to Welland, but would love to find something closer that doesn't require a boat.
